Superstar Shahrukh Khan film "Chennai Express" has collected a decent average of Rs. 33.12 crore on the first day its opening. This means that Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer 'Chennai Express' has moved ahead of Salman Khan's 'Ek Tha Tiger' that earned Rs. 31.25 crore on day. Figures collected from trade analyst Taran Adarsh and social media sites reveal that Rohit Shetty's directorial venture did wonders in box-office by making a record collection of Rs. 6.75 crore from paid previews across India. This film romantic-comedy flick has also beaten paid-preview collections of 3 Idiots at Rs. 2.7 crore.
Shahrukh Khan said he is happy with the initial response. Superstar Shahrukh Khan's "Chennai Express", which released on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr Friday, says he can't stop smiling thanks to the overwhelming response to the movie. Rohit Shetty said, "Chennai Express" has a positive message for women, and Shahrukh Khan says he is glad it has been able to depict the message in a convincing yet subtle way. Chennai Express has opened in approximately 3500 screens across the country on August 9. It benefited from the Eid holiday as people went to watch the movie in large number.
